Bought this one as a Christmas gift for a teacher whom doesn't have lots of extra time mornings to fix a heathy breakfast. This is quick, and easy. The eggs are wonderful although we have found it is much better to use extra large eggs.
This little appliance saves time, energy (a pot of water takes a lot of energy to bring to a boil), eggs don't crack, safe handles that keep you away from the steam, it is easy to put the plastic pieces in the dishwasher, it is very compact, and it is easy to store. If you prefer waiting for an entire pot of water to boil and guessing how your eggs will turn out; that's your atavistic choice. Have had this great appliance for 2-3 years now and have used it at least twice a week. A note to the sanctimonious crowd, just because you can cook in a more primitive manner doesn't mean it is better to do so or that it is somehow more moral. There are some of us who like living in the 21st century. It doesn't matter if you want one egg or seven eggs or how soft or hard you want them; the right amount of water gets a precision result in fifteen minutes -- every single time. The timer's buzz/beep is loud enough to get your attention.
The Krups Egg Express Egg Cooker is a fast and inexpensive way too cook up to 7 eggs at once.I was impressed with how fast it cooks the eggs compared with boiling them the way I used to.An added benifit that I found was that the eggs are really easy to peel if you follow the cooking instructions.I would highly recommend thid product.
And yes, I've accidently poked myself. The designers of this cooker thought things out, too - the egg piercer is built into the bottom of the water measurer and is recessed so as not to poke fingers. I bought myself a cooker from Wal-Mart and it has the piercer right on top where the eggs go. I bought this egg cooker for my boyfriend, as he had developed a passion for boiled eggs but had trouble timing them correctly on the stovetop. Wish I'd bought another Krups instead. This second one has now cooked many an egg and performs flawlessly. The first one I bought had the timer buzzer go out after the warranty had expired, but Amazon replaced it free anyway. I love how it takes so little water and always cooks the eggs perfectly.
This is a great kitchen addition.only poke the egg at the bottom(not the top) and let the eggs cool on there own(not put under cold water). If you do these things, the eggs are great every time.Clean up is very easy.Rinse the lower unit right away so it will not stain.Best money I've spent in a long time.Very happy I bought one. Will most likely be buying more.
